Here's my 1997 240sx. It has a ka24det on stock internals and 127,000 miles on the odometer.Parts list:-ebay t3/t4 .50/.63 A/R compressor/exhaust-ssac 2nd gen manifold-ssac 38mm wastegate set at 10psi-custom 3" downpipe-ssac n1 duals 3"-ebay fmic-2.5" fmic piping-nismo cold thermostat-greddy type rs bovTune:-JWT tuned ecu-z32 mafs-nismo 555cc injectors

I know, I cheaped out on many things but I spent a lot of my funds on the tuning and timing, etc.

It's been working great for me for about a year now on 10psi. I'm really closely matched with evo's and sti's, but I've beaten a few on a couple streets and the freeways which has me guessing that my output is somewhere in the range of 240-250 rwhp. About 10hp per 1psi of boost is about the conservative estimate anyway.

Total cost of my ka-t project is about $3,000 running and tuned. She drives and runs like stock and the pull at full boost is phenomenal

I recently swapped out my 4 lug hubs and steelies, thank god for that.Old pic:I decided to run 300zx twin turbo wheels, and I bought a set with brand new potenza re-730's for $380 and decided to paint them "Arizona beige"masked and fixed some dings with some bondo:then just work, work work....5 lug conversion, painted stock rear calipers gold, got some drilled and slotted rotors:base model equipment ftl:Car is dropped on 2" lowering springs and sits pretty nice on the wheels:

thanks for looking, if I posted way too many pics let me know and I can fix

ka-t is not as hard of a project as people think and I did it the driveway diy style

btw, half the budget about 1500 went into the tuning and the injector, mafs parts-that's what has saved my engine til now lol that and not being a boost pig (keeping at 10 psi for a DD street car)

I like.

My buddy had an S14 that he boosted, kinda like your setup minus the intercooler and any sort of tuning lol.

It made 236whp on 10psi. It was a totaly timebomb but it was still sweet. Id assume your makeing more than him so yeah your 250 estimate sounds good to me.

I am curious, because of al the horror stories I hear from people gettin ebay stuff. Out of curiosity, which ebay seller(s) did you get your parts from?

I feel you on the ebay turbo kit. The 240 i bought has one on it and i was very careful about buying it but after talking to the owner and looking at it 3 times i figured it was a good buy. The car is strong and has given me no problems.

i have a question and i hope someone is able to answer. How long will the motor last on stock internals when you are running you are running 10psi because aren't you suppose to run 8 or 7 psi (correct me if i am wrong)

BraH, damn nice improvement! Clean!!

I can vouch for him saying that it hauls a$$. It's a torque monster.

sloweighty - depends on motor. If it's been taken care of, it'll hold 10psi easily. If it was beat on and stuff - well, like someone said, it's a time bomb.

Nice job...

How's that blow-through MAF setup working for you? I only ask because I hear that it wears out the MAF prematurely...just curious

All the cheap stuff is working out for me very nicely, only problems I had were fitment with exhaust hangers, etc.. not really quality issues like a cracked manifold, etc..

I got the turbo, wastegate and manifold from a shop called "Fatboy Garage" like 2-3 years ago down in El Monte, CA for 500. It is probably a bit cheaper now for the same parts.

I check for shaft play on the turbo once in a while when I have the filter off for the hell of it and it spins smooth with no play just like when I got it. everything has been working great for a year of DD and daily boosting, turbo spools NICE!, wastegate gives me solid reading, manifold hasn't cracked (yet?) and these replacement parts are not too much money anyways...if they last 3 years, that's still a good deal IMO. I'm a full-time college student with a part time job, so this is about as good as it gets lol.

mafs is working nice, I recently took it off to grind off the bolt holes for the airbox and the internals seemed OK, I think a mafs should be able to handle 10psi with no problem.

the green roadster is my dad's triumph tr-4a with IRS. Very nice, he has a red one too, but I don't think it's in the pic.

Hey, I just realized you had the maf after the turbo. Ive never really read/herd much about these kinds a setups. Do you have to do anything special to make it work out like that or does it work fine? Also is it ok to have those mafs take on pressure?

just curious

my dads a big triumph head too, hes got a tr8 and a stag now but i think hes owned 2 of every car theyve made. He had a tr250 (very similer to the tr4a) it was beautiful. I have to say though that those cars are the most unreliable things to enter this country and parts are a ***** to get for them.

oh yea- nice car, kat ftw

man, its nice as hell with the z33 wheels painted.. you just need a JDM grille (or no grille) and thatl set it off (i think the usdm one is tacky and ruins the flow)

i gotta hit you up on aim with a couple questions on the ka-t setup and the wheels as well

i think im gonna paint my teardrops that color and paint the accents gunmetal, instead of polishing them
