I dyno'd my s14 a while back and thought i'd share. I made 268 whp and 283 tq

specs:ka24de-t with 140,000 original miles-stock internals/everything-t3/t4 turbo 57 trim .50 a/r comp .63 a/r exhaust-treadstone cast manifold-3" catless exhaust from turbine to bumper-FMIC w/ greddy type rs BOV-blow through z32 mafs-555cc nismo injectors-JWT reflashed ecu-38mm wastegate set at 11-12 psi

i think that's it, the car pulls hard and get's full spool around 3K. We took it to 6500 on the first run then 7K on the last 2 runs. This is my daily driver racking about 400+ miles a week and reliability hasn't ever been an issue.

Thanks to the guys at OSR perfomance for knowing what they were doing and filming the vid =]

PS I got nismo motor mounts a week after the dyno run

Here's the owner's 71 skyline with a RB25de with ITB's, I think he put down around 180whp or something. Awesome car, awesome sound.

after 140,000 original miles what was your compression like before you went turbo? Mine is OK but not what I would like to see if I was going to turbo it.

Really, mine is about the same with 148,000. Figured I should have better compression than that before I tried to turbo. Hmmm. Might have to reconsider, it's been good for you for a few years now stock.

Thank you for sharing.

Is it burning oil? I really wouldn't worry too much about it, you should be fine with a low boost setup around 10 psi tops. Just get a good tune and make sure you do your regular maintenance.

Enjoy a low boost setup while you save up for a rebuild is what i'm doing but in the end, it's all up to you...the ka-t route is not for everyone.

Wow you have about the EXACT setup i want to run, A few questions:

Who does the tapping into the oil pan for the oil line? Its just a return line isnt it?

Are you using anything other than the JWT ecu for tuning? I plan on doing a JWT tune too but i heard with all drop in tunes you have to fine tune with an AFC...?

I plan on running around 10 psi boost and getting JWT tune around the same size injectors as you, same turbo, same maf lol This is awesome all on stock internals. Email me please if you can or i guess just reply on here but you are in CA like me and i want to do KAT for sure i just need help, And searching does not help when i have no idea what to look for lol.THANKS!

Thats right at minimum.I am sure that helps with the boost though. As long as it's reliable and runs well then you can't ask for much more. When running full boost do you see any smoke? At work and can't watch vid yet.

you can get an oil bung welded onto the oil pan, it's just a matter of cutting a hole in the right place(try and get it pretty high on the side of the pan) and welding the bung in. I did a different DIY route where I have a steel pipe coming out of my pan and up next to my motor mount, but the weld-in bung is the most popular way and probably the easiest.

I'm running a straight JWT tune, nothing else. JWT chips have been known to be a little on the rich side which can be corrected via a SAFC but my AFR's according to the dyno sheet hovered around the 13 mark which is fine.

nah, that's about it...not much of a youtube star lol

sounds good but a 38mm wastegate is unnecessary for 8-10 psi. Just use the stock t25 wastegate with an HKS actuator. Even the z32 mafs would be overkill for 8-10 psi, you can use a sr mafs.

yeah it's not great but the car virtually has no oil blow-by. Even the oil level stays in the operating range for quite a while. I will rebuild eventually, but running this much power on a stock POS ka is just a freebie IMHO

yeah that list would be 2 pages long lol

To make a long list short, I got the treadstone cast manifold and I had to modify my brake master cylinder by shaving off one of my front brake lines and tee'ing it into the other front brake line(idk why nissan made two, one for each wheel) just so my turbo would clear. If you had an "on center" turbo, then it would/should work. But to be honest with you, I wouldn't recommend this manifold to anyone unless they use an on center turbo with this manifold or you will run into clearance issues.

then came the custom fmic piping since there wasn't a fmic kit for the ka with my turbo setup.

then came the custom dowpipe made at the local muffler shop and the custom aluminum oil drain tube.

In short, there was a lot of custom work put into this setup and I will tell you right now that it was a ton of work and it is not for everybody. If you want a low maintenance drop in OEM setup then i'd suggest going sr or at least getting a drop-in turbo kit for the ka.
