I sold my T3 (300ZX) and trade in with Bigger turbo( i know it is bigger but I don't know the actiual size is), when I had the old one , it used to kick in full boost at 2400RPM(8PSI) ,but now this turbo kick in at 3400-4000Rpm full boost (9.5psi ,for some ough reason it is slight off) anyways , I honestly don't know the trim nor the spec of this turbo, , it bolt on to my T3 flange , does it means it is a T3? I know the compressor is much bigger than the old one I had . I just want to know is it late to spool up at 4000rpm full boost? for those of you got the T3/T4 , how quick urs spool up at what 8-9 PSI? thanx this turbo donesn't have a little nozzle outlet for the wastegate singal line, so what I did was to hook it up behind the throttle body ( throttle body > BOV nipple >Wastegate) , my BOV sounds different then it used to be) is there something wrong? now full boost at 9.6-9.8psi when my wastegate spring set at 8 psi? is it because the BOV signal line shoudn't be with the Wastegate line together?

I was on the way back home , I passed by a rice out Eclipse he took off, so I drop to 4th gear from 5th , I was at 2600rpm, he was pulling me away , and when I hit 4000rpm , I start catching him and passed him one and a half car lenght then I heard he shift gear then the BOV blow off so i knew either it was a GST or GSX anyway, there was traffic ahead and we were already going 110mph so we went out own way, i was impressed of the KA power ....lol

Depends on what full boost is. The T3/T4 will take slightly longer just from the fact it uses a heavier/larger compressor wheel. Secondly, you're boost threshold will also be a little higher because your set boost level is slightly higher. 3400-4000 does seem a bit high to me though. I've driven a BB T3/T4 KA and it was at full boost of about 9 psi before 3000 RPM. Double check for leaks. And do you know the trim and A/R of your turbine housing?

Boost is higher now b/c the pressure drop over you intercooler - If the wastegate recieved it's signal from the compressor outlet before, it saw the pressure before the intercooler and TB. Now it gets the signal from the intake manifold, so more boost...

And my T3/T04E, 57-trim (standard bearing) spools to 8psi by 3100-3200 most the time.

Look on the turbine, and what's the numbers listed there...should be .63, maybe .82...? Let us know..and pics would help.

I dont see why it would spool so late unless its an .82 housing

.63 should spool before then even if its a stage 5 wheel

maybe get a gt series turbo--or an sc61. Theu have little more lag--but waiting for that kind of power is definately worth it. :)
