spongy brakes

I just had my master cylinder replaced and when I got my car back I noticed the brakes were spongy. I could still stop alright but before I took my car in, my brakes were super responsive now they feel like the brakes in my dads dodge truck, like the pedal has to travel farther for the same amount of action, I guess thats how to describe it? could they have bleed the system improperly?

check vacume hose on the booster... and if possible bleed the brakes...correctly... also check for leaks

A re-bleed should be the first step, as this is generally the most common oversight.
