Yes, it's just for looks. Here's the story: One day, Ol' Mister Spoil, thought that if he put a board shaped like an upside-down airplane wing, it would look cool, and thus he would jock *****es, and that's how the spoiler came to be. after Mr. Spoil Jocked 98.37% of all *****es living at the time, Everyone adopted what came to be known as a "Spoiler" to jock *****es of his own.

Wow it's amazing what one can come up with at 4:45 am. I have to be at school at 7:15. why do I stay up this late!!!???

It's main function is styling. Unfortunately wings attract mostly teenaged boys, cops, and other young males that put wings on their cars. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I suppose. But if you think an aftermarket wing will significantly improve the performance of your 240sx, I have a bridge for sale in NY.

They affect handling at high speeds, but only if they're freakin' huge, and have been tested for their aerodynamics. Unless you have a big *** windtunnel, save your money. Better yet, spend your money on your tires and suspension, then you'll definitely notice a change in handling.

Like bubba said about the teenaged boys, they are for looks mainly, but if you look at a racing series called the JGTC ( Japanese Grand Touring Championship ) most all the cars in all of the classes have huge spoilers, that is used for downforce. But enough of me explaining this stuff, just read the FAQ.

for downforce to apply you'd have to be going at least 130+ more or less, I could be wrong.
