spoiler mounted brake light

so the other day when i first drove the maxima at night, i noticed the third brake light was flashing when the brake was applied. im assuming that this is normal, is it not? input is appreciated.

No, it is not normal. The 3rd brake light should come on solid. Check to see if there was some kind of aftermarket license plate (or other ****) attached to the brake wires.
