Hi guys. Heres some info, a little review i suppose, of the spl tie rod ends.

heres a little backstory -

I originally had the version 1 tie rod ends on my car, spaced out 3/4 of an inch. They had some problems; I bent the shanks drifting in a "practice lot" (no collisions just back and forth steering rack motion caused slight bend) and later one of them sheared off on me at a drift event. After taking them off, i found the main problem to be that they were severly overtorqued (i hit them with an air gun, the actual torque number is like 25 ft/lbs or some such) and the spacers were kindof squished i guess, which in turn caused the top nut to loosen, and let the rod shank wiggle around in the spindle, eventually breaking.

EVEN THOUGH the failure was due to my own bad installation, kuah was kind enough to provide me with a brand new set, and a pair of the extremly beefed up version 2 spacers (these things are EXTREME, they are the same diameter as the spindle mounting point), new bolts, new everything. GREAT business practice. anyway i have now been using these pieces for tons of daily driving and road trips, and 2 drift events, and they have performed absolutley flawlessly. was changing my wheels today and checked the rod ends, no play at all, no bends, etc looks just like new. so that speaks for their durability.

on to performance -

these rod ends will essentially max out your steering angle if used with the rack spacers. this will push your steering all the way to the stoppers, which is basically as far as you can go with a stockish setup.

the sperical bushings deffinitley help to tighten up the steering, feels very nice.

the price is great as well, this piece is designed much better than kazama / kts aluminum counterparts.

here are the install instructions for anyone who is curious.http://www.splparts.com/doc/SP...t.htm

PS. i have been using mine with the .45" spacer, which has proven to be plenty of bumpsteer correction for me. you can DEFFINITLEY feel the removal of bumpsteer when going from stock tie rod ends.
