Wow, talk about completely USELESS conversation....
However, brian is still right. When your talking about how they refer to them in the parts book, F50 is for 02+ Q, FGY33 is for 97-01, and G50 is for the 90-96..
In the FSM, it refers to the F50 as the 02Q, the G50 as the 90-96 Q, and the FY33 as the 97-01.... Y33 is much too vague, because that could include many variants.... with the V6 and so forth....
the Y33 refers to the nissan CIMA, the FY33 refers to the V8 Cima, the FGY33 refers to the north american Nissan/Infiniti Q45.... EDIT: so technically FY33 is a sufficient description of the chassis.
G50 refers to the Infiniti Q45 no matter how you slice it (same basic car, same motor, trans and so on), there is different nomenclature for the Nissan President (like HG50 or something).... In the case of the G50, that alone is enough information, because the other variants simply have different trim levels and so forth (the president is basically the same car except longer in the soverign version)
Same thing goes with the J30. Its based off the Y32 chassis, but its a JPY32... A Y32 is a cima, a JPY32 is an Infiniti J30..... I think the JPY32 is also referred to as the J-Ferie, but im not sure... There may even differnet nomenclature for those with the 4.1 vs the 3.0. So yes, it does make a difference.....
the G50 still remains the only car labeled by nissan as the "infiniti Q45". The other G50 series models had different nomenclature....
IM not sure why any Y33 owner would want to call it a "Y33" because theyre saying their car is a Nissan Cima, not an infiniti Q45.... Which is fine by me.
Im not taking anyone side here, i am just presenting the facts as they are.
