Does anyone make anything like this:

For the rb series?

Would be nice to do those kinds of things before putting the motor in the car.

Just curious.

On ebay for 125. I might get one just because I think the SS is smaller than cast so it may clear the steering column better. And it also ha the divorced wastegate housing so thats always a plus. Worth my 125.-Alex

Cool, thanks for the info.

I'll probably go with HKS over ss autochrome.

As long as no-one knows of any clearance problems.

And if it mates up with the exhaust on the 240sx in the right spot

go with a 3" straight through downpipe.....

i think this is a better setup....or have a one piece downpipe made

i don't see that Z1 downpipe being a benefit over the full 3" flow through design. look at the size of the turbo gas channel vs the wastegate channel, the path for the turbo's exhaust is tinny....especially it flow into a 2.5" pipe. just comparing that with the stock O2 housing, the stock one definately outflow the one pictured.

Has anybody used the SS one with stock mounts? My steering shaft is minutes away from digging a hole through my stock O2 housing and i wanted to use the SS one as a temporary fix until i decide whether to get a mount kit and render my custom driveshaft useless or hopefully find some other way to make this whole thing work out without the mount kit

if you know anyone with a welder or have access to a welder.....cut the O2 housing in 1/2 and weld up a 3" pipe to the O2 housing and your problem is solved...without effecting other parts.

Cast Iron is one of the hardest things to weld, I'm not surprised they turned you down. The SS is thinner than the big cast unit. It will work. Remember that when they made it its eactly the same as the inner diameter of the stock unit just not as bulky. As cheap as SS autochrome is they're prety quit nice. All of there items are made eactly the same because they use the same exact jig and mas produce. And even if it didnt work. pull it off cut the flange and rotate it or dent it and it WILL clear.

Those guys are retarded, pull the transmission to put that sucker on!? wow.-Alex

The RB dump pipes are cast steel, not cast iron, and can be welded on no worries. Heres some pics of mine:

The ones I mentioned are for a 300zx. Have you seen the engine bay of a 300zx?

With many 300zx upgrades, you have to pull a bunch of crap out of your way to get to the part you need to upgrade. A friend of mine put new turbos on. He pulled the engine because it was the easiest way to do it.

I'm hoping it will be at least slightly easier to work on a RB in a 240sx. I know working on the KA has been much easier than working on my 300zx.

Most stuff is pretty accessible with the RB.
