i used to own an 88 rx7 and when i took the splash shield off, it overheated. i was wondering if the 240 was the same way.

im asking this bc i just installed a temp gauge and when at normal operating temp, it reads 210 or a little higher. the stock gauge is right in the middle like normal.

i took the splash shield off to do a coolant flush and all but 3 bolts broke so if i dont have to put it back on that would be nice

FC's come stock with a v mount setup.

They were engineered heavily to maximize ducting.

By taking that cover away you took away all the ducting forcing air into the radiator.

Hope that explains it to you.

But chances are you still have an air bubble in your system.

So double check your coolant system.

reinstall the lower splash shield, it helps air get directed over the rad

the bubbles? put car on jack stands in the front so the top of the rad sits highest, take the rad cap off and let car idl;e so it gets hot, bubbles should get out that way, have u done a rad swap or coolant flush b4?

I have been running without my splash guard for a couple of years. Mine got jacked up and I just haven't gotten around to replacing it, I have one on order as we speak.

Anyway, I have not had any heating problems.
