Does Nissan randomly put splash guards on their coupes?

I've been trying to figure it out. My car came with splash guards and it's a 3.5. I've seen some 3.5 sans splash guards. The same with 2.5; some have them, some don't. But there is not a charge for the splash guards on my window sticker. So... what's up with that??

EDIT: well, they're not exactly splash guards...but here's two pics.

i imagine those ppl without the guards have taken them off or requested them taken off....cause we even have an '05 altima and it came with the splash guards....i know this being a coupe probably shouldnt have...but its not a 100% sports car either......i personally dont mind them, i think they are ok and discrete since they are so small anyways,.

btw - i think this also helps the car look lower than it really is....it helps the lines of the car....dats what i think..

That makes no sense. Why would anyone remove the splash guards? - as you can see the splash guards blend in so well that you might not realize they are there. The folks who don't have them, don't have them - period.

On the G35 it is an option - not sure why they are not listed as on aption for Altima - unless they are included in a package.

To my knowledge, all Coupes come with splash guards. Its not an option and it simply flows with the lines of the car. They don't even look like splash guards too me.

hmm...perhaps you're right. Every personal coupe picture I've seen has the 'splash guards'. It's Nissan's 'Official' pics and car show pics that contain coupes sans 'guards'...

All 2008 Altimas (Sedan and Coupes) come with splash guards standard, 2007 sedans were added as extras $$. I used to hate them but the car looks just fine with them, if they were those plastic ones I would've taken them off immediately but thank god Nissan is not that cheap.

I personally like the look of the splash guards. It does blend in well with the body of the coupe as well as "flaring" it out.

I've posted this question on the Stillen Side Skirt thread but I wonder if the splash guards wold integrate well with it?

You cant put the splash guards on the STILLEN Rockers. They are built a 1/2" lower than the stock ones. Therefore the bottom of the splash guard hits and the top holes don't line up. Its ok though, because the molding of the rocker itself has the splash guard "bulge" built in. It flows very nicely
