I just installed the subframe spacers in my car t his morning with the help of Yeswepromise (Brian).

the total time it took was 40 minutes.. Most of which was just talking and screwing around....

This is very easy to install.

Tools needed:

14mm socket17mm socketTorque wrench 40lbs and 85lbsfloor jack2 jack standsPB blaster or WD-40

This is a picture of the spacres that you get from SPL (talk to Alan)

first you jack up the car from the diffy and put the jack stands inder the car.

you then blast the bolts with PB/WD and let it sit for a few minutes.

while you wait, take your wheels off the car. (you don't need to but it will be much easier to get to the sub frame without them)

the front one has 2 14mm bolts holding the bottom plate up and one 17mm nut on the subframe that you see here:

here is Yeswepromise taking the nuts and bolts out:

I recomend doing one side at a time so the sub frame does not drop AND keep the jack under the diffy at all times.

this is what the bottom plate will look like once it's out and you put the spacer on it;

now you will have to slide the top spacer in. all you have to do is lower the sub frame a little by the jack and if that does nto work then put a breaker bar between the frame and subframe and pull it apart so you can just slide the top spacer in with the notch!!

this is what it looks like once you put the top and bottom in:

the back side of the sub frame is the same thing except there is only one 17mm nut holding it up:

*note* for the top of the back spacer you will have to lower the subframe by the diffy!!

the torque spec for the 14mm bolts is 40lbs and the torque spec for the 17mm nut is 85lbs

do each side at a time and bolt them back up! double check everything, put the wheels back on and take it for a spin..

These spacers definetly improved the back end feeling.

The back ebd no longer feels sloppy any more. it is more has a solid feeling. I already tried to burn out and YES, I did not get any wheel hops... although I didn't get to do it a lot but 2wice or so..

I will see how thse feel at the track...Which I am going to on the 18th so I'll see how much my car changes then since I am basically on all stock suspension except for springs and VLSD.

Damn, this kinda discourages me from dropping my whole rear end, burning out old bushings, and getting new ones.

Alan or Anand:

Will these be of use even if I already have the full Energy polyurethane kit on the rear?

1. hey one of you mod peeps. make this a sticky in the DIY/Tech forum.

2. Does this make the ride harsher? I've heard that the car "talks" to you more. But it may not be a good idead if you have a pregnant wife.

Hey Black, after your track day, give us an updated indept analysis will ya.thank you.

I think they have an ebay store, thats where I got mine. My stupid pass. side rear mount's 17 mm nut rounded off cause it was rather rusted, I'm trying to figure out how to get it off. 2 of the others went on with no problem. the front one on the driver's side had some issues. The rubber bushing kind of stuck to the chassis and the subframe was hanging off of it, and I tried to whittle it down and burn it off but that didn't work too well. So I ended up grinding out the spacer some more.

Get a grinder and try to define the edges of the nut(s).
