Well, I put in my SPL line I got yesterday, the line itself looks great Shame itll be coated in road grime in a week or so. I ran into a bunch of problems installing it though. I wasnt sure if it bypassed the damper box or not, so I just assumed it did. Boy I was wrong. I ended up bending the clutch line until it could reach the stainless line. I also rounded the nut on the fitting of the clutch line, so I had to use vise grips to loosen and tighten it. My friend and I started to bleed it, but after numerous attempts at bleeding, we found out the slave cylinder busted Had to go to autozone and get a new one. Got one and found out the threading of one of my bolt holes to the slave cylinder is stripped out THEN on top of that, I forgot to put the rod inside the new slave cylinder, so the cylinder just popped out. Went back to autozone and they had another one, thank god. Put the rod in and put the cylinder back on. Bleeding screws up again, I yell the F-word and my neighbors hear me. I look under and I forgot to tighten the line, stupid me.Bleeding took about 10 seconds. So easy, in a way, heh. The clutch sorta feels better, not to what I thought it would be though.

Sorry for the long post, I had a long day. Nismo_Freak, you guys make some good looking lines.

I just recently tossed the loop too and felt a bit stiffer pedal feel. Of course I was driving a Miata for 2 days while waiting for parts so I could have just gotten used to it.

I also have the stainless clutch line, couldn't really tell a difference. I have an ACT Street clutch, so I thought maybe the aftermarket clutch matched with a steel line would give it a firmer feel in the pedal, but nah. Oh well, at least I have bragging rights. Its an excellent made line

hehe i feel ya!

Stupid me... I rounded the nut that connected to the dampner box but manged to remove it with vice grips as well. I decided to remove the dampner box so i started to bend the line toward the main line. After being very careful, i did managed to turn it around without any akward bends. Ok, so i start to put the nut in and it did go in somewhat but it stoped. I figured dirt go in there so i started tighting witht the vice grips. it started to go in smoothly so i then started bleeding. I then realized that it was leaking at the center of the hard line and the screw went in at an ANGLE. argh!!

I eventually had to go to the junkyard and take a hard line from an old Z cuz there weren't any 240s = \. Luckily it BARELY fit, that thing is streched out like crazy! If it had been an inch shorter, then it would not have fit.

I know I have had my share of bad luck working on my cars. I think the dampiner box is giving my clutch problems. I think I'm going to bypass it and by a new clutch line. I may have to order one over the winter.

Isn't the damp box there for a reason? I think people go a little overboard with removing oem parts...

its supposed to cushion the clutch pedal, if you know how a part works and what it does and what it affects, and you still want to remove it..... ok. I put my spl line in and wow its definately a more responsive pedal

wow, everyone seems to go through hell with the clutch systems on these cars. i just finished a whole ordeal with my clutch system too... why do they make the hardline bolts so easy to strip? i even used a flare wrench... oh well, im happy its all over. i took out my damper, but now my clutch feels really really soft, and the catching point isnt till the very tip top, can anyone help me with any suggestions? i havnt adjusted the pedal height yet, but im pretty sure its close to factory specs, would that make my clutch feel soft and weird? i was also wondering if the spl line works with the damper removed (including the bent hardline) too? its the same length as the stock rubber line am i correct? ...sorry that was a pretty poorly stated question.
