Greetings Everyone..

Still enjoying my New Vesa! Went to visit my Folks tonight, about a 30 mile drive one way. On the way back home, taking the 4 lane freeway. The freeway is very straight and level and very few cars this evening.

I was driving about 70 mph, when I kept slowly pressing the accelerator. Very soon I was doing 90 then 95 mph! I noticed that the RPMS was approx. 3800. I did not keep it there too long, ( really don't need a ticket!) But it was rather satisfying!!!! The car is capable of going much faster, but don't really wana push my luck! The car felt very stable going in a straight line. Engine noise was moderate, not bad at all.

I am not advising doing this, but the Versa is a very capable car! Race Car: NO - Then again... I did not buy it as a race car! The Versa I feel is a great car for the $$$!

2007 Versa Sedan - White4 Spd. Auto 2,020 miles.

Best

Bob

I had the same thoughts too, on the freeway, i'm doing 60 and the tach is stable between 1000 and 2000... then i`d drive my pathfinder and the tach stays on 4 or 5k lol... the versa doesn`t even feel like its going that fast either!

I have to agree with you on that one. The fiancee and I enjoy getting out of town and hitting some twisty roads out near Bandera, TX. Ther are some good curves,a dn the V just hugs the turns really well with the drop springs and Strut brace installed. It keeps asking for more pedal. The tires will chatter every now and again if the turn is a really tight one but the factory rubber is very capable of handling what I throw at it.

The V actually isn't that bad of a car for twisties. I've autocrossed mine. Well, my first one anyway.

Definitely needs better tires for that, though.

hehehe... if you even it out, you can go 90 at just a hair over 3,000 rpms... I do it more often than I should... (the threat of getting a ticket isn't there so much with me...)

I was so amazed the first time that I took a pic of it ;oD

well i have had mine to 110 and if you feather it it will go faster i found if you set the cruise and then just keep bumping it up it will go higher. this is around 5000 rpm but it jumps up and down from 4500 to 5500.

now in the twisty roads which i do have alot of.

it will bite you in the rear if you are not careful and your stock as i found out this weekend.

strut bar and lowering and new shoes are in my future

i do not condone doing this but i was curious.

Ahhhh you'd be surprised on what these little guys can do when the right stuff is on them.

Just keep it safe and have fun because the Versa is more then capable....specially when you have the six speed.

I just can't wait to see what the V really can do when we get a full line up of performance parts. I'm already maxed out on mine except for the suspension (the last area I have to mod).

But yes, the V is MORE THAN CAPABLE!

Just be careful. Montana no longer has the "reasonable and prudent" speed limit thanks to some stupid speed-happy lawyer a few years back. The speed limit through much of the state is 70 (and lower in the rest!), and I know that Montana and Idaho state troopers are VERY good at catching speeders, even with nowhere for them to hide.

Come on down to Texas. We have a 420 mile stretch in west Texas that has an 80MPH speed limit on it all the way to New Mexico.

yea cornering at a higher speed with stock suspension was a lesson in drifting made the sphinkter draw up!

i had a 97 grand am gt before this car and cornering was not as scary!

dont think i want to abuse it again but just had to see what it had.
