Hi, I am doing a VQ35DE swap in my 240sx and I am getting close to the end. One of the last problems I am facing with this swap is the steering column interferes with the stock exhaust manifold. While I am capable of some simple metal fabrication, I do not feel that making a new set of exhaust headers is a project I want to take on right now. So, one way or the other, I need to move the steering shaft to clear the exhaust manifold.

About the only way that I think I can reroute the steering column is by using aftermarket steering knuckles/joints to literally 'bend' the shaft around to the steering box. A company like Borgeson makes aftermarket steering joints but I am not quite sure the one used in the 240sx is a generic spline? It seems like the spline count is 35 and the diameter of the shaft is around ~17mm or 11/16 inches. Any thoughts?

Another way I might be able to reroute the steering shaft is by spinning back the steering rack. Now, it looks like I would have to fabricate a new bracket on the drivers side, but I was wondering if these even seems like a plausible approach?

The first method I offered probably is much more conventional I just do not know where I can source steering joints that would fit the 240sx? Any insight or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks
