well, i was in a hurry because my grandpa was stuck out on the interstate and the car ran out of gas, and i didnt have access to our truck at the time so i had to use my car, well, i was out of gas in the 2gal tank so i had to stop at the station to fill it up, while putting it in the passenger side it spilled out on to the seat and a little in the floorboard, the container didnt have the yellow cap that makes it air tight so it still had a little opening.

1. Get a can that seals.
2. Never carry gas INSIDE your cabin. Put it in the trunk.
3. You're probably going to have to take it to get it cleaned. Gas can ruin things. It strips color and paint easy.

This actually happened to me last summer (in my trunk though, and the gas was for the lawn mower rather then a stranded grandparent); What I did was use some shout (loundry stuff), wet rag and a wet vacuum. I also left a couple drier sheets back there too, and the smell was gone in a week or two.

idk how to clean it but put some charcoal back there and let it sit for a couple days and the smell will be gone...this also works well with for puke lmao
