Had the day off today, so I installed the front Tokico Blues (rears were done last month). I timed myself: 12 minutes removal and reinstallation!!! (In between, I took the assemblies to the garage on the corner to have the shocks swapped since they have a hydraulic compressor and only charged me $10)

Also installed my completed FSTB, complete with custom-machined, super-beefy "feet" that turned out very nicely. A bit of a panic moment when I closed the hood and it didn't quite close all the way - Then I figured out that 2 of the "snaps" that hold the hood insulation in place were loose and hitting the strut bar. Tightened them up, and now the bar just touches the insulation, and clears the plenum by 1.25 inch.

Went out to a deserted office complex and gave her a good thrashing... WOW. What a difference. Perfect balance of understeer that can be converted to oversteer with a little heavier throttle, and I was able to actually maintain several sustained drifts wherein I was accelerating at about 3/4 throttle and looking ahead of me OUT OF THE PASSENGER WINDOW! Woo hoo!!! No scary stuff, just nice, predictable, flat handling.

Then I installed the Sylvania Silverstar (high AND low) headlights (THANKS SOPDADOPE!!). Much cleaner light, and they are far brighter than the stockers (which were only 3 months old, but oh well - I'll keep 'em for....spares?)

Swapped out the rear brake pads and had the rotors turned - No drama there.

Finally, I scoped out the location for my remote oil filter. Since it doesn't look like relocating the battery will be feasible until I can buy an Optima, I'm gonna put the remote filter in the front of the left wheelwell (where the ActSus cooler would be) and run the lines through the hole under the airbox. Should make for simple oil changes - Getting tired of dropping $45 plus $5 for the filter every 3 months....

I'm finally starting to feel like a Q expert, thanks to all my friends here on NICO. You guys RULE!! :ylsuper

Next weekend she gets the full detail treatment in preparation for the May 4 Nissan/Infiniti meet/BBQ. :D

Nice 12 min, I remember when me and my 240 friend installed a subwoofer system in 10min, it was our "quick install"...

Edit: Do you know if Sop has anymore of those SilverStar headlights. If so can you could you ask him to contact me, or Sop, if you see this can you contact me? Thankz, [email protected]

Not sure about that Woody - Sophann will have to answer that.

Man, I took her out to my FAVORITE cloverleaf here in town (25 mph posted limit) which I go around every day on my way home from work at 60-62 mph.

I'm happy to report i went through it 3 times, each time progressively quicker, and the rear end finally started to step out at around 66 mph. It was a nice predictable loss of traction with plenty of warning (in the form of a tortured squall from the outside rear tire :D)

Mama even noticed the difference in the ride - She said it feels more "stuck" to the road... High praise from a non-car gal. :D

Hard to ignore 4200 pounds of pissed-off Japanese luxury car. :D
