the cost of a swap is more than most people think. Well that is if you replace a few key parts. i would also suggest a clutch, water pump, thermostat and also dont forget money for fluids, fly wheel resurfacing (if needed), filters and all the other things you will need . the motor mounts and battery suggested earlier you can do on the cheap. the motor mounts you can buy windsheild urethane and fill them. the urethane can be had at any place that you would get auto glass at and it is like 10 bucks. I have personally done this and it works great 1 tube will do both motor mounts and the transmission mount. As for the battery you can get one from walmart for 29 bucks. you do have to do a little trimming on the battery itself (the plastic ears on the bottom of battery) but it fits very snugly or you can rig up a garden tractor battery. The swap price seems cheap i would be suspicous as most places are about 2500 dollars without shipping. make sure you have a low mileage motor, full harness, transmission, CAS, ECU, ignitor, radiator, and all the other goodies. I would for go the hood for the time being unless your made of money then spend away. my swap all said and done was about 4500 dollars. but keep in mind I replaced alot of stuff and have not regreted it one bit. with the 5000 you have I would do this below. I have also listed what I have or would have gotten
FMIC--greddy vspl-I made by own kit it was more hassle than it was worthradiator-koyoclutch-CMI 6 -puckspark plugs-ngkthermostat-oem nissanwater pump--you can get a kick *** jun racing one from SPL parts but I am sure the cost is alothot pipe-enjuku it is like 80 bucksfuel filter-oem 300zx-downpipe- I got blitzexhaust-I got 5zigen rocket but there are tons of others are are very nice toofans-FALoil, gear oil, oil filter, upper and lower radiator hosesboost controler-not a must but a manuel one is like 80 bucks intake-Apexi , hks, greddy I got apexiearls clutch line-40 bucks and it was well worth itbattery. i think that is it. Also I would set a few hundred aside for crap that needs fixed or breaks. For example a totally smashed oil pan comes to mind. Also visit ebay they are good deal there all the time. I also would buy as much stuff from one company as possiable as usually they will give you a slight discount for a large purchase.
