Speedomoter Problem!!

The speedometer in my 1990 240SX doesn't work. It works when i start the car then it dies a few minutes later and from then on it's just erratic. Sometimes it works for a second other times it just jumps up and down. I was told to replace the speed sensor, but that still didnt' help. Are there any other sensors i missed? What could be causing this problem!? Oh it's a manual transmission... any ideas?

Is it the HUD or the regular one. Im having the same problem with the HUD..I've backed chked the entire system..maybe the whole unit is bad..hmmmm..anyone else have these problems?mine is a 89 KA 5spd.

Yea, my fuggin speedo is cracked out as well. O well, waiting on my Silvia cluster.

I think its the speedometer head... I have the same problem.Not too sure though gonna replace mine this week.

Mines works fine but I think it's not calibrated right because, at regular speeds it reads 90, either that or the NJ Turnpike everyone goes steady 90.

its probaly a bad fuse. i dunno which one tho, so ask k-car or daunt.
