speedomoter isn't working and no heater

i recently bought a 91 240sx with a few problems but it was a good deal. the needle on the speedomoter just bounces around and doesn't work at all. i was told it was the speed sensor but i want to make sure before spending $150 on a speed sensor. also, i have no heater. thermostat?

i would look in the classifieds for a used speed sensor. Just make sure its from a S13 KA motor, its makes a difference. Also you might have no thermostat is waht it sounds like to me

i have the same problem.. before you go spending your money on a speed sensor.. make sure its just not the speedometer itself or a bad grounding... see if putting you blinker on helps stabilize the needle

it'd made sense about not having a thermostat cuz it takes forever to heat up but also it doesn't always work for some reason..it continuously goes from cold to hot which makes me wonder if that and the speedomotor isn't working it could be the cluster.
