speedometer works sometimes. HELP, please

hey, thanks for check this out,

i have a 89 nissan 240sx coupe

the speedometer is digital. whenever the car is cold. it doesnt work. when i car gets nice and warm about 30 minutes later, the speedo shoots on and works fine. and on nice warm days it works fine. any sugguestions would be very much appricated. i do not know much about 240's and i am new.

You have a KA engine that is single overhead!..Just like mine..and like you my speedo is all over the place. I'm chasing a speedo problem on a '90 with the analog gauges but it is hit and miss(works above 45 well but jumps to life when it wants to..I'm trying a sensor first. Hope you find a fix...
