Speedometer works on and off

My recently bought s13 also has a speedometer problem. The odometer works full-time but the speedometer works off and on, off more often than on. Is this probably just a loose connection?

I'm having the same problem with my '89 s13 fb. I have heard that it is a common thing for the s13's to have and it has to do with a bad connection with the speedo cable and the actual speedometer dial. If anyone can shed some light on this for us, I'm sure we will both apperciate it. Thanx, Jeromy
