I just bought a 1990 240 sx, and I am having problems with the speedometer. It stick at about 40 till you get on the highway no matter what speed you go. Then when I jump on the freeway it jumps to 70 and hops around between 55-70mph. Does anyone else have this problem?

I also have a 1990 240sx, and my speedometer sometimes indicates the correct speed, and sometimes sticks to 20kph... I'm on a tight budget right now, so I'm just gonna leave it...

When it is working, learn how to judge your speed from the gear you're in and the RPM you're at. That's what I do... I'll fix it when I have money.

i too am having speedo (it wont fit! j/k ) troubles, after swaping out engines (kae to kae, same year), its just a dead fish in the water, wont budge, made sure that connection is good, and it is, took the dash apart and the speedometer is hooked up, and it defaults to 0 when i switch the key on so it must have power. I tried hooking up the old speed sensor that i know works, and just spun it with my hands and it did not move, but im not sure if you can even make it move doing that...any suggestions?
