speedometer "ticks"?

i installed the indigo reverse gauges, and my speedomter only works right like 50% of the time (i dunno why, just sometimes it'll work the whole time, other times hwen i start up my car it wont work) ..what it does is the MPH goes smooth to like 30 ..but from 30-50 it only movies about every 7-8 MPH ..normally its like 34-35-36-37-38 ..but when its not working it goes from 34-40.. it always seems to work again when i go past like 65..anyone have any ideas? ..i know i'll have to take apart my whole dash again,but when i do, i kinda wanna know how to fix it first.

hmm i would say somthing would be getting in its way but i dunno, if somthig was holding it back it would do it all the time.. im about to install some indigo reverse gauges, hope mine dont mess up...

your speedo cable is rubbing inside, probably frayed. your going to ahve to get a new cable, pickup, etc...-chet

check and see if the needle is not rubbing on the face.. I had that problem with my temp and fuel needle. I justy took the face out and then glued it down... works now..
