i was wondering if i was to get an after market speedo would that bypass my speedo in the dash? i have a jdm gauge cluster and it wont go any faster than 200km/hr. i dont know if i need to go and replace that piece with a new one or if i can just by a new speedo and hook it up and get past the prob. one other thing is i dont know if it really is because of speedo or if there is a speed limiter that stops my car at 200km/hr anyone know? s13 red top sr20det

LS Auto sells a 180 mph speedometer.

Btw, jdm speedo is 180 kph not 200.

I'm not sure if this is much help, but the ka24de has a governer on it at 117mph.

Also with a new speedometer unless the 0 is in the same spot and the 120 in the same spot and etc I think it needs to be re programmed so the needle will read a different position.

I'm not sure about that last one, but it just seems to make sense to me.

i have the jdm that goes to 180 but its goes quiite a ways past it and i would at best guess say 200km. but what i would like to do is bypass the speedo and install something like the pivot hud speedo but i dont know how to bypass the speedo.
