Speedometer stopped working

Yesterday while I was driving, the speedometer (and the odometer) suddenly stopped working. I was smoothly driving on the highway when this happened - didn't go over a bump or do anything that would loosen a connection.

The tachometer still works as well as other gauges on the dashboard. I have had this car for about 4 years and never experienced this before.

Does anybody have any ideas what this might be and any clues as to how I might be able to fix this?

Have you checked the electrical system? It's possible the fuse for the speedo blew out...

woah my speedo doesnt work too.i was told it was the speed sensor but i replaced thatand it still doesnt work. then i was told its the cluster wiringso im thinking of replace my whole dohc cluster and wiring harnesswith a working condition one. what other possibilities could there be? which fuse are you talking aboutbecause i can't seem to find it at all
