speedometer reads 0 on digital dash

1988 300zx 5spd reads 0 on digital speedometer was working intermittently now not at all. I suspect speed control. Any help appreciated.

I would suspect the speed sender or the speedo gear. Pull the sender and gear out of the transmission, be sure the gear has all it's teeth and that the sender's electrical connector is in good shape.
