As the title says. Does anybody know what can be causing this? Can it be the speed sensor? Any replies appreciated as always.

You probably have the stock sr speed sensor in the trans which is reading for kilometers an hourTake the one out of your ka and put it in the sr and you'll be good

I don't have a KA :\ I guess that means I'll have to buy one. About how much should I expect to pay?

SR and KA speed sensors are interchangeable. US KA S13 sensor works fine on JDM SR S13 engine. I have a US S13 KA working fine in my convertible with an S14 SR trans.

However, S13 (silver metal) is not electrically compatible with S14 (black plastic) and vice versa, even though they do fit in the same hole.

You may have the wrong model, or a wiring issue.

Try ebay, used I am guessing $30-50
