Hey guys,

I need some help trouble shooting my speedometer. (1993 hicas)

I tested my speed sensor by checking the A.C. voltage across the 2 pins. (around 0.5 volts) It WAS there.

I followed the 2 pins from the sensor all the way up to the cluster harness (using the wiring diagram) to get my signal. The faster i drive my car, the more the A.C. voltage increases. To me it seems like its working properly. IS THE VOLTAGE SUPOST TO INCREASE AS I GO FASTER???

I have tryed 4 differnt clusters and the speedometer is still not working so now i'm pretty stuck!

Please help!!

a fuse maybe? so what happens exactly? does everything else work like the tach or coolant temp?

No, its not a fuse..

I have 2 clusters out of a ka24de. Everything but the Speedemeter works on both of them. Also, i have 2 clusters from a Ka24e. everything works except for the speedometer and tach on both of them.. I'm getting the voltage signal from the sensor, as i drive faster the voltage increases so it seems like its working properly.

is it possible that you cant use a cluster from a ka24e with a ka24de?

I"M MIND BOGGLED

You cant use a E cluster on a DE from what I remember. Try using a different speed sensor. If its not that then check the wires for any cuts or frays

ok before you knock the fuses check every last one in the engine bay and in the fuse block also speed sensors have been known to just go out. then check the wires from it to the harness to make sure you didn't snap one then check the harness that goes from the sensor to the dash harness you may have to pull your dash or... i could just be a fuse/relay somewhere
