Speedometer Problems On My '89 240SX coupe. it works for about a minute after starting. What to do? Please help

It could be the speedo (i think it has a real name) sensor. Mine had the same problem but the wire harness/plug was just coming out. Look on your transmission and make sure everything is plugged up. The sensor might be bad, but thats what fixed my car just a bad connection. Good luck
