Speedometer problem, help

when i accelerate, doesn't matter if i go fast or slow, the speedometer stay in 80kmh, so what i have to do?? to fix this problem, or what i have to change??? and when the car turn off, the gauge drop to zero, like normal...

check the speedo sensor, its on the transmission. Pull is it out check it, follow the wire back and see if there are any crossed or breaks.

Assuming you have a S13 89-90 like me that is. this should give you an idea where it should be on your Manual transmission.

ah ok, wooh is a little expensive to be a speedometer sensor; another thing that cause the problem??

check your odometer(mileage), if it's working, chances are u have a bad speedometer head. If odometer is not working, I would test the speed sensor at transmission. remove it & visually check the gears if they are worn. Check the wiring connection . While it's out, check the voltage betweentwo terminals,while turning it by hand, u should get approx. 0.5 volt AC.Remember to set ur digital voltmeter to AC not DC.

try rock auto.com or buy it used. i think the 91 93 have the same one as you

look up speed sensor in tutorials

they have to be similar or else the speedo wouldnt read right, but i doubt they are identical.. not alot of ka and sr parts are interchangeable, but you could always go to a junkyard and try and find a KA trans, the sensor is held in by 1 bolt in the transmission.. comes out real easy, i always thought it looked like the KA distributor. ha
