does the 4wd bolt up in the trans the same way as the 2wd? or does it go into the transfer case? i have never seen underneath a 4wd d21.
as to the tire size, it's not for everyone. little more clutch slip is required when pulling the trailer or when starting from a stop on a steep grade. surprisingly though, 1st gear seems to be more useable. i can actually pull through an entire intersection now before a shift is required. before the tires i would have to upshift before making it all the way through most intersections.
on the highway, cruising rpms are much lower. haven't got the gps in there yet to know exactly how fast i am going but at what "feels" like 55 mph, rpms are in the 1500 range. according to
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html my odometer is reading 13.2% too slow based on an original tire size of 195/75/14. i need to get a full tank of gas through it so i can calculate the mileage based on that percent error.
all that being said i like the larger size much better. i can live with the inaccurate speedo/odo but if i can correct it that would be awesome. i have a 15 tooth speedo pinion gear ordered from japan. it is out of a navara. when it gets here in a couple of weeks hopefully it fits and works with little to no modification. if not it only cost me $25
