Speedometer, Odometer, Dash lights?

Just bought an 89 coupe with a blown head gasket. car didn't run. fixed the head gasket and now it does run. But... It has a heads up display and the speed will not show up, The odometer and trip won't read either. also when you turn the head lights on the gauges won't light up like they're suppose to. I checked to see if the speedo sensor was plugged in and it wasn't. neither was the 5th gear switch. plugged them all in and nothing. i've checked fuses. all good. the plug the speedo sensor goes into in the engine compartment is also pluged in. I'm getting ready to swap an sr20 in but want every thing to be in working order before i do so. I'm a honda tech and a little new to the nissan world. but i can't seem to find out the problem. any help would be much appreciated. thank you. ps the tach and warning lights all do work!

did you fix it? seems like most r ready to flame and point to the search button, but have no real technical information to share, then good questions go unanswered. i got the same problem, thats why i revived it.
