speedometer not working....did search guys

ok i just did the sr swap as well as a 5-speed swap......everything is working except for speedometer.....i spliced all the wires by the ecu so thats all good.....the speed sensor plug where the shifter is cannot be connected(2 male connectors) someone else had the same problem but said they had a female and male and said he had to splice a wire......but i dont have a male and female....i have 2 males.......im stuck guys...thanks

another thing is that 1 male connector has about 7 or 8 wires while the other male connector only has 4......so even if i spliced the wires there would be wires just hanging......i dont know whats going on....thanks

If you have a 92 or older you will have to get the gauge cluster from a 93 or 94 to get it to work with a sr20det.You must have not done a very good job at searching for this since there is alot of info that people have put in the forums.

Thats what i have read in a post(more than one post that is) when my gauge cluster did not want to work for me and i am not sure if that is true or not.

I think you're confusing what you read. It's fairly common knowledge that you need a 91+ tach to work with the SR, but the speedo and other gauges are pretty interchangable.

Something else is wrong. As the poster originally suggested, he can't get his speed sensor hooked up. johna_99_99, snap a pic of the connectors you're talking about and maybe we can help.
