Speedometer is Reading 3x as fast! Help!

Dear Members,I have a hybrid swap on my 96" 240SX. I had a S13 redtop motor installed but my speedo reads too fast. When i'm crusin about 25 mph it reads like 50mph! Can anyone help with this problem? I purchased a new speed sendor and got the same results. Could this be a wiring problem? Thanks!

its probly because you have a s13 speed sensor you need a speed sensor for an s14 chassis, what year did you order your sensor for?

I ordered a sensor for a S13 becuase the S14 sensor won't bolt up to the S13 transmission.

did you go from auto to manual as well because the auto speed sensor is slightly larger and wont fit the hole

I had the same problem

1995 240sx with S13 redtop

I used the manual S14 KA speed sensor and it worked fine.

My S13 redtop 5 spd has a speed sensor from my s14 KA 5 spd.

i have a new s14 5 speed sensor in my 95 s14 with s14 sr20det and im having this problem..any ideas

mine did that even with the new speed sensor what you need to do is go to the junkyard and pull off the vss pinion off the junkyard car more than likly you have the jdm one on your vss right now and that would cause it
