I just got a used 1989 Nissan 240 SX from my cousin. It's got the digital speedometer with the heads up display. I noticed that its broken. When the temp outside is hot (like afternoon) it works, but when it gets cold (like early morning and evenings) it does'nt work. Does it have some sort of a temperature sensor problem? Also i noticed that the odometer and tripmeter does'nt work when the speedometer is broken, but when its fixed it started working again. Is there a relation between this. I had to add also that i don't have an instrument display light when i turn on the parking lights. I bought a chilton complete manual for this and it says that if there is a problem with the speedometer display especially digital, you have to replace the whole display cluster (which will cost a lot). Is there any gadget or adjustment that i can do to minimize cost. Please help.!!!
