Speedo & Tach Issues 96 I30t

Car has 140K on it... Sometimes when we drive it will not work until we hit a certain speed, sometimes not at all... Usually slapping the dash a time or two makes it work again... Now all of the sudden the Tach is screwing with me too... It hangs just a bit at around 3K... Then after driving for an hour or so it will just go crazy and do whatever it wants... The car runs fine durring these issues... No hesitation or anything like that... It almost seems like a bad connection...

I tried searching but when I put in speedo I got a TON of responses, none seemed to quite match my issue...

Just plan on replacing the instrument cluster with a new one from ebay or something... should be easy since its a maxima
