The needle stays laid over past the 115 mark like its pegged, but once I hit about 40 mph it heads back to about 90. It also makes a ticking noise. It is still completely stock right down to the oem cassette player. So its not an issue of a jacked up dash harness. I don't think its the speed sensor or else it wouldn't read. I'm guessing that the magnets for the speedo are bad. Any suggestions or ideas would be great. Thanks.

Not sure on the 240 but sometimes the speed sensors get messed up on cars. Either the cable gets tangled a bit or if it's electronic they sometimes collect small pieces of metal on the end of the speed sensor. Then the metal stays straight until you reach a certain speed and it will lay over allowing the sensor to work correctly at higher speeds. If changing speedometer doesn't work I would look into one of those.
