I can't seem to find any info on this. Please help.

I have a 92 SE hatch with auto to manual swap, OE sized tires. The problem is, my speedo is accurate up to about 60 miles an hour. Above that, its off by aprox. 5 to 8 MPH through the entire rest of the range.

What could cause this? Maybe needs a new speed sensor? Are the auto and manual speed sensors the same or different?

How are you checking its accuracy?

AT and MT speed sensors are different, you need to be using the MT sensor.

My bad, I meant to include that speed was being checked via gps.
Is there any way to tell what speed sensor is in my car? Or should I just buy a new one and see if that fixes it

Should be able to do an image search on google or something and find pics of speed sensors to compare.

One thing to consider is if the MT is from a S14, it may have a S14 sensor, S13 and S14 are different as well as MT and AT being different.

But normally the wrong speed sensor would be wrong at all times, not just higher speeds. May be an electrical issue or something.
