Speedo Problem

i have a 89 240sx se 5sp, and the speedo works fine till i hit like 70 and then it goes down to 100, so when ever im on the freeway i cant tell how fast im going. could this be the sensor?

goes down to 100mph from 70mph? Either the speed sensor on your transmission or your speedo in your cluster.
