i own a 95 240sx which had an automatic rb20det in it. i recently switched out to a 5spd and now my speedometer is reading almost exactly double my actual speed. the shop that did the conversion installed an s13 speed sensor because they had it laying around. Instinct tells me all i need is an s14 mt speed sensor but i would like to be as sure as possible that it is what i need before dropping 120 bucks on it since it is non-refundable from Nissan.

Thanks for your input guys.

That leads me to believe that they probably installed an S13 sendor from a silvia (SR20DET), which is why is reading wrong.

That is the limit to my input, but atleast I gave you a bump:)

yes i have the same problem. you have to get the s14 speed sensor and install it so it doesnt read double.

so you are positive thats all thats needed? I have a friend that works for Nissan and can get the part for cost + 10%, but thats almost $100 so i just want to be sure before spending my money.

yup thats all you need. guaranteed. since its the s14 gauge cluster. alternativley stick an s13 gauge cluster in your car but i doubt u want to do that. you can get a s14 speed sensor at a junkyard for much cheaper.
