I recently did a 5 speed swap, do i need to do something special to get it to work?
Im completely confused because the speedo in the cluster was fine before the 5 speed swap so the previous owner/friend says and when i had my 5 speed tranny in my hatch the speedo worked so i know my speed sensor is good.
Any help would be appreciated :)

I cant say i know a lot about the 240 but if the car was electrical speedo and it worked before you did the swap. might of forgotten to plug it in or you used the one that was broken. But if it was the older cable driven speed there is a little square like piece at the back of the instrument. during swaps in older vehicles i have found that the speedo cable usually brakes there causing the speedo not to work.
hope that helped ;)

The sub harness for the speedo is different between the MT and AT. The MT uses a 2 pin plug, and the AT uses a 4 pin plug where it hooks back up to the chassis. In the past, I've used AT lower harnesses because of this issue. You can remove all the AT sensors as they're just subharnesses taped to the lower harness. You don't really need all the MT switches either as they're not vital to the car running and you have to run extensions to the only switch you need, the reverse switch.
