Speedo help

Sorry for redundant question, but no time to search. We are only allowed 15 minutes at the library. I am changing my clutch on Thursday, so I will have good access to my transmission (duh). I have a 91 se with digital dash and HUD. It went out 2 months ago, started going on and off. My nissan dealer has no idea of the problem, but said he can start replacing parts until it works again--eff that. Maybe someone here will know of a fix, a speedo would be nice.

it's probably just the solder connections on the back side of the thing. I know the analog speedo has that problem.
