I swapped The gear on my VSS from one out of a NA Z32 auto to better match the rear end ratio that in my G50.

Everything seemed to be working fine for the fist mile I drove the car, speedo was reading accurately now, but then all of a sudden the speedo went to 0 and the steering got really hard. When I start the car now I get a "transmission malfunction" from the display. Is there something else I need to do to the VSS to make it work?

If anybody with the 4.08 gear swap is interested, the speedometer can be corrected using the stock VSS and jumpering the 5, 7, and 8 adjusters on the back of the speedometer.

Not sure if that fixes the odometer as well, I'll keep an eye on it.

I used this guy:

I decided that was a lot easier than messing with the other stuff, and I could dial it in exactly if I wanted to run different tires or anything else..

I hate to bring back that which is long dead.
But! With that SGI-5, how easy is it to wire and adjust? Is it intuitive, do they have a guide?
