Well we got it registered and insured and the first trip around down the speedo cable broke I'm guessing. We went from appropriate speeds to 85-105mph and now thats where she stays. are these difficult to change?
depends upon where along the line the cable may have broken. The harness going into the gauge cluster is easy enough to replace, if that is the issue. If, on the other hand, it is down on the transmission where your problem might be sitting, I havent gotten to that point in my own project to be able to say.

I've got the 4x4... My daughter discovered the turn it off thing and it works about two out of three times. Last night she was driving and it just fixed it self as the restart thing didn't work.
I would check both ends of the speedo cable. The bottom end is on the right side of the transfer case and is easily accessible. The top end is a bit harder to get to but doable still. It is behind the instrument gauge set in the dash. You can reach it without removing anything and try and push it in to be sure it is all the way seated.
Good luck!
