Speedo and tach not working?? 90 240sx coupe

I recently swapped an sr20det into my 1990 240sx coupe, the 240 came with the ka24e (sohc) I know that the tach is not supposed to work but i hooked up the speedo and its not doing its thing. i just bought an autometer tach and hooked it up to the tach signal from the ecu and its not doing anything either. anyone else been through this or have any suggestions??????

I'd check wiring.
