That, my friend, is your first, and probably final, mis-step. Admission of guilt means you basically can't fight it. Let this be a lesson to all of you... Whether you admit it or not is not will not affect officer's judgement BUT admitting puts you in a no-win situation. The Constitution allows you to NOT admit anything even if you KNOW you're guilty, period.b88dragon wrote:so yea i answered truthfully, and he ended with saying you'll be getting the ticket in the mail
I have had a speeding ticket mailed to me. It happens when they run out of paper copies, or if you go speeding through the EZpass booths . The cop sounds like hes taking leinancy on you because if you were doing twice the speed limit, he pulls you out of the car right there and arrests you. That is "driving to endanger" here in MA. (also happened to me)b88dragon wrote:Hey guys,
Well last week i was having a party for my pseudo birthday, and it was around 2-3am in the mornign that i decided to drive my friends home. On the way back i was probably doing about 90 on a 55 and there was a car tailgating me. Now i didnt know it was a cop so i speed up and before i knew it BAM, the lights went on and i was like 'OH SH!TS'. so here the wierd part, when i got pulled over he asked for the usual, license and registration, but i didnt have my license on me. >_<. Whats even wierder is that the cop came back and said he didnt have any citation and asked if i knew why i was pulled over, so yea i answered truthfully, and he ended with saying you'll be getting the ticket in the mail.
Now my question is can the cop do that? Can he mail you a citation in the mail? been almost a week since the incident. So if anyone has any clue about Mass. speeding laws please help me out here. Freaking out sorta since it could be a ticket for up to 500 -_- and thats about half of my tax return. so any insight would be helpful. Really hoping that the cop forgot to mail it to me, but you never know.
Wow try doing that in NY, You definitely would have been jailed after "I don't have my license" If I start a career as a criminal I'm sure as hell gonna move to MA lol.b88dragon wrote:Hey guys,

You were doing 90 in a 55 and THEN sped up? Here, we could get a 'street-racing' violation for that, and possibly your car cubed! Doesn't even require a second vehicle! Consider yourself lucky if you only get a ticket even if it costs $500. Not sure of the laws there, but here you don't sign anything... you just get a copy of the ticket. And for 'street racing', they impound your car immediately, and also you...b88dragon wrote:On the way back i was probably doing about 90 on a 55 and there was a car tailgating me. it took me about 10 days for me to recieve it. And you can still fight the ticket. All you do is sign the back and send it in to go to court over it. I have friends that get off for bulls*** excuses ALL THE TIME. Just go in there and say you had to go somewhere for an emergency, or that the person behind you was driving oddly (the cop) and it scared you and you wanted to get away from it.b88dragon wrote:Thanks you guys for all your input and as some of you have said i'll probably most likely get the ticket , due to the advances in technology and easy access to anyone's info with registration and date of birth. And no i didnt sign anything as all he ask for was my name and date of birth, and kinda surprise that i would have been arrested since i never knew about that, guess i got of lucky?
who know maybe it was because i had 2 girls in the backseat . well like i said before there goes half of my tax return. and BigDankCloud how long did it take for them to mail you your speeding ticket?.
man this speeding ticket is costing more than it looks, cuz now my insurance will go up and it will take at least 3-5 yrs for my points to go back dwn to normal. wont be driving like that anymore, time to drive like my grandpa, doing 45 on a 55 in the fast lane
