speeding light?

ive seen several vids on youtube of people maxing out there altimas (mostly in the middle east where theres no speed limit) and i always notice a little light flashing. my cat has the light too and it looks like a little speedo so my guess is that it comes on when you go fast?? but i dont remember seeing it come on before and ive done 130 MPH with my car.... maybe it did come on and i just didnt see it because i was too busy watching the road but i dont think it did come on. does anyone know that the light is for?

You sure you're not just seeing the "key" dash indicator light flashing? that's the only thing that blinks on my 2.5.

Sometimes in the middle east, if you go too fast theres beeping that tells you that you are driving too fast. I'm guessing that is what the flashing light is. The beeping is really annoying and it makes you want to slow down.

Yes when we go more than 120km/h a light on the dash comes on. They are fitted to all cars by law. Most cars make a very anoying noise but the coupe just has the dash light with no audio.There are speed limits on the roads here but not many cameras or police to inforce the limits. Max speed on a highway is 120km/h but a speed camera normally wont flash until you reach 160km/h and then we just get a fine with no points.There are many roads you can max the car out on and many people do mostly crazy arabs though lol

lol ya, im Libyan (living in America) and last i heard there still werent any speed limits in Libya..... ill post a pic of the little light so everyone can see what im talking about

That light is different im not sure what that is! i have that lit up on my car but not sure what it means and i couldnt find it in the manual. I would post a photo of the overspeed light but im back in England UK visiting family at the moment so cant get a photo!

not its not on in the pic, its just white and when it lights up it turns yellow

If you look it seems to look like the speedo-thing, but a little different. It has an arrow that wraps around the ring, telling you, "your going too fast"....

It kicks in right at 130 km/h. ~80 mph

Alright, cool its the same symbol that does the same thing..... comes on at around 130kmh.. Im guessing its only on these overseas models with the KM/H speedometer, unless someone from Canada wants to chime in on this......

it is clearly a caution light that is telling you that you are going "fast"

in my car that light is always on. it is only there to show you that the knob to adjust the dim on the gauges and interior instrument lights is right below it.

the light that zerep posted is a totally different light than the one that Hussain posted

Yes, everyone has that white symbol that is always lit. I think Hussain was just confused about the different lights/ gauges...
