ok so I have a 1990 chassis, I put a CA18DET in it , and ever since then I have had no speedo capabilities. I have the wires from the transmission (Y/L Yellow/bLue) and (Y/B Yellow/Black) I can trace them into what I think is the engine harness no2. but then it seem to just go to a plug that has no mate for there is six wires that go in to the plug, but I cannot find a matching male plug for it. I have looked over the FSM for the CA and the KA-E (which has not been very helpful) I was hoping someone would know if there is suposed to be a mating plug for this 6 wire plug on the CA harness, or is the KA-E have a different style plug for the speed sensor connect to the interior harness and ultimatly to the cluster.

Thank you

its been a while, but i am pretty sure thats the plug i had to salvage from my KA harness. i may have hard wired it too... either way its not going to just match up (unless im horribly mistaken). you can always steal a few complete plugs from parts that arent going in (emissions canister crap, air conditioning, etc.) and use them in place of one big one...

someone correct me if im wrong, its been 4 years since i wired mine up.

Well here is what I wrote up on my forum:

ell I figured it out, well at least on the KA to CA swap there is a plug that has 6 wires Y/L, Y/B ,R/W, Y/W, G/W, G/L, there is a black wire and a White wire the don't match anything on the other plug.

Colors and what they are.Y/L - Yellow/Blue - Speed sensorY/B - Yellow/Black - Speed sensorG/W - Green/White - Back up lampG/L - Green/Blue - Back up lampR/W - Red/White - Daytime light - don't think I actually have thatY/W - Yellow/White - can't find it in the FSM so I don't know what it does.

So the plug locations are the one you need to cut from the Engine harness No.2 if you follow your speed sensor wires through the loom on the lower jdm harness it will take you up to a 6 wire connector with an orange center(well at least mine is). Now for the other plug mine had both sides of the plug (male/Female) and my Back up lamp wires were wired into this (wrong though) this plug is sorta under the Relay/main engine fuse box. This plug is also a 6 wire but it is tha wrong size for a direct connection, it has a green center piece. I then just stared re-pining and matching wires. so now I have my speedo and the back-up lights, and daytime lights..lol and something I else that I am un aware of.... there was a couple of wires that didn't match, not sure what the are I am currently looking over the FSM to try and find them. Well I hope this helps, I am not sure how much different the S14 stuff is.

a friend of mine has an s14 and couldn't get his working either.
