Speed Sensor??

My speed sensor is cracked on my transmission and my speedometer stopped working will the one off the ka work or do I have to find one for the CA in specific or not any other ideas??

correct me if im wrong, but i think if you have the original ca18 speed sensor you should switch so your speedo reads in MPH instead of KMH. unless your using a jdm gauge cluster...

LOL speedo sensor doesnt work like that, I believe it works by how fast it spins gives off a higher voltage which in turn the cluster interprets that signal into a analog display. It doesnt matter if its KMH or MPH.

Anyways the one of the KA should work fine.

Well I have a coupe with HUD so I can switch it back and forth between KMH and MPH and it doesnt work still any suggestions on how to fix??

First make sure that the speed sensor itself is in good working condition. There is a section on how to do this in the FSM. The sensor off a KA trans should work fine.

Second check your wiring from the sensor to the gauge cluster. Make sure there are'nt any shorts or opens in the wires.

Finally go over your connectors and check for corrosion and excessive resistance.

It might be the gauge itself, the Digital Speedos were notorious for going bad. Has to do with the factory cold solders on the board. Mine works for like 5 secs when it's cold out, than goes out. if you search on it, you'll find more.

I hope it's just your speed sensor.
